The Addo Elephant National Park is situated 65km north of Port Elizabeth near the Zuurberg Range in the dense, indigenous bush area of the Sunday's River Valley. The Park was proclaimed in 1931 to preserve the last survivors of once numerous herds of elephant in the Eastern Cape that were hunted almost to extinction. Some of the game found in the Addo Elephant National Park includes: Elephant, Lion, Burchell's Zebra, Grey Duiker, Kudu, Ostrich, Black Rhino, Red Hartebeest, Warthog, Cape Buffalo, Eland, Black-backed Jackal, Leopard (Zuurberg), Cape Grysbok, Bat-eared Fox, Spotted Hyena, Bushbuck, and Small-Spotted Genet.
The romantic atmosphere of the ten spacious tented suites, marry modern luxury with the glamorous safari period of the early 19th Century. Dining is by candlelight in the elegant dining room or on its lazy verandas which overlook the waterhole.
